This is the first time I’ve worked with another singer in arranging my songs, so I didn’t know what to expect. So Abby was a delightful surprise: a consummate professional, with an extraordinary purity of voice that I could write music for much like a violin or flute! And yet the human, feeling dimension of her voice was what really made the difference, and added exactly what I needed to complete my song arrangement. I asked her not only to sing music, but to play the part of the main character in my song (“Space Girl”j as she sang — and she did that in exactly the ways I asked. It’s hard to ask someone to provide you with a section of music that is heartbreakingly beautiful — but she did!
